The Office of the Dean of Students

Dean of Students

The Dean of Students, Dr Julian de Meyrick, is available to all course work students of the University who need advice about their studies and University procedures, beyond that which is available at Department or Faculty level.

The Dean of Students is responsible for the resolution of complex issues but does not provide academic advice.

Contact the Dean of Students if:

  • you have a problem and don't know how to proceed;
  • you're not sure of your rights in a particular situation and need information about University policies or practices;
  • you are experiencing academic difficulties within the University.

However, the first point of reference for all such matters is the individual academic department within whose work area the matter arose. Initially, a student should aim to resolve any difficulties with their tutor or the academic staff member in charge of the unit. When this is not possible for some reason, a student should seek the advice of the Dean.
